Zack and Greta met in undergrad at University of Wisconsin through mutual friends. Funnily enough they grew up about 20 minutes from each other, Zack in De Pere and Greta in Appleton. Zack would play basketball with Greta's friends in high school; somehow they never met. Zack was even roommates with her best friend's boyfriend freshman year at Madison and still they didn't meet until senior year when they went skiing with a mutual friend group.

In 2020, they were supposed to go on a ski trip to Jackson Hole with school but it was cancelled due to concerns right at the start of the pandemic. True to character, they decided they couldn't sit around Madison all week, so they just hopped in a car and drove the 18 hours out to Montana so they could ski!

Soon after they got back from Montana, Zack and Greta started dating, and spent the next year together while Greta worked for the Red Cross, Zack finished his Master's in Environmental Engineering, and kept each other company in quarantine.

Greta was accepted to medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Oregon and Zack liked the idea of a new adventure and beginning his career out west.

Zack took Greta on a hike to Abiqua Falls and proposed!

They were fortunate to build an incredibly supportive and adventurous community in Oregon!
